The NWS engineering team immediately began designing a cost-effective solution that would meet stringent seismic requirements while maximizing available space. NWS value-engineered the project with a standardized design, simplifying installation and future maintenance while keeping costs down. To fully utilize new warehouse’s height, especially in a seismic zone, the NWS team optimized the elevation profiles of the rack and designed the layout in a way that incoming pallets could be brought to storage without any repalletizing, streamlining CTK’s workflow. NWS also managed permitting and inspections, delivering a true turnkey solution to the customer. A major challenge during this project was a shorter than expected build-out timeline due to access to the new warehouse being pushed to a later date. This compressed the initial 6-week installation timeframe to less than a month. However, the standardized design proved its value, with NWS’ installation team completing the project on schedule and saving CTK any additional costs from extending its old lease.
